Dublin Airport contracted Campion to implement an annual service and maintenance contract for their 33 pumping stations, which are located both landside and airside. The pumping stations are essential to effectively managing Dublin Airport and for the millions of passengers that pass through it annually.
Trustworthiness, reliability, and expertise were key requirements for the service provider, and there was no doubt that Campion could meet these requirements.
There are thirty-three pumping stations within Dublin Airport that require regular servicing and maintenance. The primary purpose of the pumping stations is to pump sewage at the location and surface water from runways and surrounding areas, they are an essential element to the airport.
Dublin Airport needed to entrust the service and maintenance contract to an experienced and reputable provider, as the majority of the pumping stations are situated airside. Effective project management and coordination is vital, as this is high-risk work for the staff involved, and there is a range of key stakeholders and security procedures to be satisfied on each site visit
Campion carried out a full audit of all 33 pumps and their station. Taking each pump apart to ensure they were working correctly and prepared a report detailing any required repairs or upgrades, Campion then carried out a full service. Campion undertakes the airside servicing twice a year with our highly skilled engineers.
As the service personnel are working on the runway close to aircraft, they are all vetted beforehand for security purposes. A lot of coordination is required to ensure smooth and hassle-free service delivery for the customer. Campion introduced their Campion Connect technology to the pumping stations.
All pumping stations are now identified by a number and are GPS-enabled, so locations can be quickly found. This allows Campion service personnel to quickly identify any problems and prepare a report while on site, which is then immediately submitted to both the head office of Campion.
Dublin Airport management has peace of mind knowing their pumping stations are all working effectively and that Campion personnel have the required skillset to handle any necessary repairs or upgrades.
